Dr. Ivan Zassoursky is a prize-winning author of the coveted Shuvalev prize (for his book The Mass Media in the Second Republic ), journalist, campaign manager, and political advisor in Russia. A member of the Faculty of Journalism at Moscow State University, he is in residence this fall as Senior Research Associate at the SUNY Center on Russia and the United States . He gave a talk about the role of the media in the reconstruction of contemporary Russia.
