Brown Bag Lunch Presentation

"Democratic Development in South Africa"

Judith February, Manager of the Governance Unit of the Institute for Democratic Alternatives in South Africa (Idasa) will make a presentation on "Democratic Development in South Africa" on Tuesday, October 29 from 12:00 to 1:30 pm in Room E/F, Public Service Programs Center, Library North Basement.

This presentation is co-presented by the Center on Democratic Performance and the Department of Africana Studies at Binghamton University.

Judith has worked extensively on issues of good governance, transparency, and accountability within the South African context. She is particularly interested in law as a tool for advocacy and the intersection between law and politics as well as the development and interpretation of socio-economic rights jurisprudence in South Africa. She is a graduate in law from the University of Capetown. Her visit is jointly funded by CDP and the National Endowment for Democracy.
